TransAlchemy at the International Alchemy Conference

TransAlchemy attended the International Alchemy Conference this past Saturday. On our way in we came across a curious thing...

My educated guess is that this magic bus carried someone who was attending the Alchemy Conference, although I'm not entirely sure. There was another convention going on at the same time which was much larger, and surprisingly similar. The convention center was covered in signage that talked about the "secret of youth." This made me think of the Elixir of Life/ Philosopher's Stone of alchemy, but I think that this particular secret of youth was for estheticians.

The secret of youth was not the only secret revealed that day. As I expected, there were many things at the Alchemy Conference that blended the ancient art of alchemy with modern science. InnerSense was there promoting their various technological/ spiritual therapies one of which involves sending a wav file of your personal voice recording to a supercomputer in Europe. By analyzing this file the computer can supposedly understand what you are doing wrong and/or right at this stage in your life in order that you may improve yourself. They also have the VibraSound chair which claims to be Transformational Techknowledgy. This again demonstrates the TRANS prefix in action, both in regards to science and spirituality. As we here at TransAlchemy are keen to point out, there is a merger of science/religion/and philosophy which has already begun that will become increasingly overt in the future. As transhuman technologies go mainstream, we will see more and more of these scientific therapies being released to the general public. The IEET's "Cyborg Buddha Project" hints at this, as they call for the use of converging technologies to enhance meditation and to produce "ecstatic states of mind."

It will be interesting to see how the two polarized camps of (1. new age spiritualists and (2. transhumanist atheists will react to the merger of science and spirit. How will the Hegelian dialectic reach a synthesis this time around?

There was some strange stuff at the International Alchemy Conference that's for sure, but among the questionable wares there were also some of true value and there were many good people at the event. We got to speak with some amazing individuals, and we also got to see more evidence to corroborate what we here at TransAlchemy have been saying all along. In regard to this I would like to point out a very interesting note on one of the convention's sponsors, the Alchemy Guild. One of the main purposes of this group is "To release alchemical knowledge to the general public at appropriate times." In what form is this knowledge being released, and when is the right time to do so? What alchemy is the mass mind itself being subjected to? Does one need to know a secret handshake to uncover the answers to these questions, or is it just as well to read the signs all around us?

Symbols are powerful tools. Learn what they mean, and you too can discover the ancient secret of the "Philosopher's Stone" for yourself...
