Alchemy: turning the base metals into gold. Forget about the lead bars that keep you inside your mental prison cell, and begin decoding this metaphorically. Philosophical gold is what the Alchemist seeks.
So what are the metaphors? The "base metals" are us. The "profane" masses (that's all of us), are viewed as ignorant creatures. We are "base" animals acting out of our most primitive drives and desires. Through intelligence, the "anima" can be captured, tamed, and farmed. But let's get back to philosophical metallurgy...
...The base metals, the raw materials of the earth (Materia Prima) can be turned into "gold." This is to say that apparently useless metals can be refined, and a profit can be made. By "refining" us (giving us a basic education and/or job training) we are made profitable. We are turned into profit generating machines. This is how we are transmuted into "gold."
In order for this alchemical process to work, a basic framework has to exist. The Goldsmith's method requires that a legal framework be established. So what is the legal system we live "under," and what is it all about? It is another alchemical "magic" trick. It is MIND OVER MATTER! (think about that for a moment)
Ideas are guiding the direction that our material reality is moving. Intelligence guides actions. By establishing an systematic foundation (law) you get to move matter according to your own design. If we chose to do so, we could completely ignore all established ideas and exist according to our own framework. Law derives its power from our compliance, it is that simple. The system we choose to accept has established its own authority. This is high alchemy. Exerting your will upon others. Establishing the "divinity" of your own "intelligent design" (within the minds of the masses) This is all a faith-based system. It is incredibly simple to understand, and yet it branches off into infinite complexity. This complexity is simply an "unfolding" of the base structure itself. Understand the base, the foundation, the square that the Builders work upon.
