Geo-engineering: Fixing the Leak and Cleaning the Ecosystem
The physics and engineering challenges that the oil situation, in the Gulf of Mexico, presents to us, may actually be beyond the scope of modern Human ability. We are dealing with high pressures, being beneath the weight of the ocean, that severely complicate the physical forces involved.
If the sea floor continues to fragment, then the only solution to prevent more leakage may be to use self-replicating nanomachines to geo-engineer or terraform a new sea-floor. This may involve patching the current sea-floor with pure diamond surfaces.
Bacteria may be engineered to digest the spilled oil in the water and on land, leaving the waters clean and returned to their natural composition of salt water.
Restoring the Economy
The world economy is expected to suffer a great shock as a result of the repercussions of the Gulf of Mexico situation. This presents an opportunity to apply AI towards optimizing the functioning of a workforce and economy, from an ever-evolving distributed 2nd-order cybernetic model of the economy which may significantly outperform modern markets which are driven primarily by capitalist greed.
The point is, these solutions will require the use of advanced Artificial Intelligence to design and coordinate their implementation. If we were to arrive at this conclusion, it may trigger the first AGI Manhattan Project - a race to develop the fastest, smartest AI to coordinate the repair and recovery efforts.
Unlike plans for someone's idea of a New World Order (SINGULAR), we are facing the reality of many New World Orders (PLURAL). That is, a New World Order created on-the-fly, each moment, by every individual participating in this beautiful reality videogame dream.
